Atlanta Sarcoma Patient Support |
Emory's Winship Cancer Institute has begun a sarcoma support group. It meets once a month in the Glenn Building adjacent to Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta. The next meeting will be 6:30 to 8 or 8:30 May 18, featuring Dr. Gina D'Amato. The facilitator is Valerie Henderson, a social worker at Winship. The support group is open to caregivers, sarcoma patients, survivors, or anyone interested in sarcomas. (GIST is one type of sarcoma.)
The support group also hopes to start a Peer to Peer subgroup to help guide newbies through this journey.
