GISTers Meet in Southern California

On Saturday the 16th of June we had a wonderful GISTers' get-together in Lakewood, CA.  I believe this was the record breaker of our six meetings we have had.  Thirteen GIST patients showed up and we all discussed our various experiences and problems.  Mutual support was definitely the name of the game.  Fortunately for us, Glen Wishon, MD was in attendance as usual, and he really helped with all the questions.  

It was nice that we had many of the old crowd and several new folks.  I believe the new patients really get a lot out of these meetings and I encourage them to attend one of these meetings in their geographic area.  We even had Agnes Ingram fly in from Houston to meet some other GIST patients.
