The St. Louis GIST Foundation is having a meeting this fall on Saturday, November 5 from 7:30 am -1:00 pm at Barnes-Jewish Hospital North. The flyer is not yet available with all the details, but here is the Agenda:
Dr. Graham Colditz, Professor of Surgery, Associate Director of Prevention and Control at Siteman Cancer Center at Washington University School of Medicine, and Deputy Director of the Institute for Public Health at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Colditz is world renowned in the area of applications of scientific advances in cancer prevention. He will address the science of living a healthy lifestyle post cancer diagnosis.
Dr Benjamin Tan, Washington University Oncologist, will speak about advances in the treatment of GIST.
Attorney Claudia Abbott will speak about legal issues in the workplace, Health Insurance, ADA, FMLA law as pertains to a cancer diagnosis.
An expert in Medicare and Medicad will speak about qualification, application and working through the system.
We will have a light breakfast, and lunch at the conclusion of the program with time for patient and caregivers to chat.
There is no cost to the attendees and parking is free.
